As circunstâncias muitas vezes não são como esperamos que sejam. Depois de receber a profecia de um anjo, dizendo que o bebê deles seria um rei, José e Maria se viram sem alojamento disponível, tendo que recorrer a dormir em uma tenda ou estábulo. Então, um tempo depois, eles tiveram de deixar seu país e fugir para o Egito para proteger a criança. Provavelmente não era assim isso que imaginaram, depois de ouvir uma mensagem tão maravilhosa de Deus. Mas havia um propósito em cada dificuldade, pois Deus estava cumprindo sua palavra. Eles só precisavam confiar e obedecer a Ele. Cada um de nós também precisa aprender isso todos os dias.

Não importa quão fiéis nós somos em nossa caminhada com Deus, todos nós, em algum momento ou outro, teremos que enfrentar instâncias, ou mesmo estações, de aparente escassez e sofrimento. Quando estamos no meio das tempestades da vida, é fácil nos sentirmos desanimados e frustrados, e nos perguntarmos por que Deus está permitindo que essas coisas aconteçam. Sua Palavra nos lembra que Ele é um Deus fiel e amoroso, totalmente digno de nossa confiança. Enquanto mantivermos os olhos no Senhor, não seremos abalados (Salmos 16:18).

À medida que aprendemos a confiar nEle, entregamos nossas expectativas a Deus.

À medida que aprendemos a confiar nele, aprendemos o que é essencial para nossas vidas.

À medida que aprendemos a confiar nEle, descobrimos que podemos enfrentar qualquer provação com a ajuda Dele e encontrar a paz que está além do entendimento.

Circumstances are often not how we expect they would be. After receiving the prophecy from an angel that their baby was to be a king, Joseph and Mary found themselves without available lodging, having to resort to sleeping out in a stall. Then, a while after, they had to leave their country and flee to Egypt to protect the child. That probably was not the way they thought things would go after hearing such a wonderful message from God. But there was a purpose in each hardship, where God was fulfilling his word. They only needed to trust and obey Him. Each of us also needs to learn this each day.No matter how faithful we are in our walk with God, all of us will, at some point or another, have to face instances, or even seasons, of apparent scarcity and hardship. When we are in the middle of life's storms, it is easy to feel disheartened and frustrated, and to wonder why God is allowing these things to happen. His Word reminds us that He is a faithful and loving God, fully worthy of our trust. When we keep our eyes on the Lord, we will not be shaken (Psalms 16:8).

As we learn to trust Him, we surrender our expectations to God.

As we learn to trust Him, we learn what is essential to our lives.

As we learn to trust Him, we discover that we can face any trial with His help, and find the peace that is beyond understanding.
As we learn to trust Him, we trust that all things really do cooperate for our good.
As we learn to trust Him, we realize that what matters is not my will but His will.
As we learn to trust Him, we learn what is true humility, where we recognize that he's a sovereign God, and that he's in control of creation.
As we learn to trust Him, we understand that his plan is bigger than our individual participation in it, and only He can see the bigger picture.

Help us to see the bigger picture, Lord, to and trust in you while things are yet unclear. Fulfill Your will in, and through, our lives, and may Your name be praised. AMEN

Die Umstände sind oft nicht so, wie wir sie erwarten würden. Nachdem sie von einem Engel die Prophezeiung erhalten hatten, dass ihr Baby ein König sein sollte, hatten Josef und Maria keine Unterkunft mehr und mussten in einem Stall schlafen. Eine Weile später, mussten sie ihr Land verlassen und nach Ägypten fliehen, um das Kind zu schützen. Das war wahrscheinlich nicht ganz so wie sie sich die Dinge nach einer so wunderbaren Botschaft von Gott vorgestellt haben. Diese Entbehrung hatte jedoch einen Sinn, in der Gott sein Wort erfüllte. Sein Wort erinnert uns daran, dass er ein treuer und liebevoller Gott ist, der unser Vertrauen voll verdient. "Ich habe den HERRN stets vor Augen; weil er zu meiner Rechten ist, werde ich nicht wanken."
